An Analysis of the Death Trends of Cardiovascular and Cerebrovascular Diseases in the Elderly Su Xiyuan analyzed the death trends of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases in elderly residents over the age of 60 from 1980 to 1993 in our district. Population data comes from Shanghai Baoshan District Public Security Bureau. The death medical certificate was verified by the statistician of the cause of death on the site according to the ICD9 standard. The total death rate of residents in our district was 7.27% in 1980 and 6 in 1993.
