In recent years, the Soviet Union has followed the principle of saving materials and labor costs, paying particular attention to the need to speed up the development of metallurgy and machinery. In casting production, it is the most perfect and comprehensive solution to these issues by melting synthetic and high-strength cast iron in an induction melting furnace. There are several major reasons why induction furnaces are widely used instead of cupola furnaces: they obtain high quality and high strength cast iron; they can make use of less expensive secondary charges; they can greatly reduce the shortage of coke; and can make part of a large ironmaking blast furnace. According to the Gorky automobile plant and the Moscow meter factory cost information to see, instead of using an induction furnace melting 1 ton of cast iron can reduce the factory cost of 18 to 25 rubles.
