Infrared imaging seeker will almost replace semi-active laser guidance used in the United States air-to-ground missiles. The U.S. Air Force has been studying in depth the infrared imaging seeker for “young animals,” and the U.S. Navy wants to use the seeker in IRAWS as well. Only Marine Corps wants to continue research on laser guidance of “young animals” missiles. It has also been reported that the Air Force’s “young animals” missile’s infrared imaging seeker is also suitable for GBU-15 and “White Star Eye” glide bombs. A bullet-proof, single-use warhead capable of wrecking ships and damaging large structures, including a variety of sturdy ground bunkers.
