If the radar sensor independent, its technical potential has almost been exhausted. As a result, Audi introduced a multisensor-based system for monitoring vehicles around the adaptive cruise control (ACC) system - combined with radar, imaging and ultrasound systems. This networked system also includes Stop & Go functionality, further expanding the remote control system. The German Federal Army University in Munich conducted various projects on this extremely sensitive, safety-relevant driver assistance system.
