蓬莱北沟镇种植的番茄是北王绪村菜农曲良田于1973年从北京10号中选出的变异单株,经过系列选育而成的一个番茄品种。该品种产量高、质量好,与原品种北京10号相比,株型更紧凑,果型大,果色全红,抗病性强。连续重茬种植,对产量影响不大,亩产一般在7500公斤左右。成熟期早,比北京10号提早4～5天成熟。该品种种植面积达500亩左右,总产在250万公斤以上。1988年北沟镇农技站的百亩丰产田,平均亩产7994.9公斤,最高亩产达10318.9公斤。北沟番茄的栽培特点是:矮化、密植、早熟、高
