从美国回来已经好久了,那些盛大的鸡尾酒会,隆重的学术讨论会……都已渐渐淡忘,只有这一件小事,在我心中留下了深刻的印象,至今回忆起来,依然是那样鲜明,清楚。主人公是Voose和他的女友Judy。Voose祖籍俄国,小时随父母在中国江浙一带生活过,母亲在上海教过俄文。他是加州大学圣迭戈分校一个剧院的经理,对音乐有着极其痴迷的爱好。我们刚刚抵美,他就和与我省博物馆有多年合作关系的加州大学圣迭戈分校教授程贞一先生前来拜访我们。当时他总是笑咪咪地坐在那里不说话,可是一谈起中国古老的文化尤其是音乐,他就滔滔不绝地讲个不停。比如他对民国时期江浙一带酐酒时哼的小曲子,就特别感兴趣。还专门写了一段儿音乐来描述当时的情景。我听过他的演奏,吚吚呀呀,还真有那么点江南韵味。交往多了,
