木雕艺术,无论古今中外都是雕刻艺术中的一大门类,世界各国各民族的原始雕刻都以木雕居多。中华民族的木雕艺术更是源远流长,具有丰厚的传统和突出的民族特色。但纵观我国木雕发展现状,既有喜,更有忧。喜的是,我国一些青年雕刻家和艺人,不但接受了传统技艺的严格训练,还接受了现代美术训练和外来观念的影响,视野开阔了,创作水平和制作技艺有了质的变化,推出了一批较有个性和新鲜感的力作;忧的是,在我国目前生产的大宗的木雕工艺品,无论在题材上或者是在表现技法上的确存在着程式化、概念化和雷同化。到处都可见到龙凤、狮虎、菩萨仙女
Wood carving art, both ancient and modern, is one of the most popular carving arts in China. The primitive carvings of all ethnic groups in the world are mostly carved in wood. The wood carving art of the Chinese nation goes back to ancient times, with rich traditions and outstanding ethnic characteristics.
