Confucius said: “Learning without thinking is indiscriminate, thinking is not learning is perilous.” (“Analects of Confucius for the government”) “Learning” here, in my view is the interpretation of the classic, interpretation and reference. The so-called “scholar”, to a large extent, refers to the classic learners. Therefore, the classic research can be said to constitute the half of our life. Of course, the first half of Confucius quotes recorded here is a warning to scholars, do not just blindly study the classic, without conducting their own deliberations. “Thinking” is the other half of the way we gain the wisdom of life, not to mention half or half. Unspoken school is not only useless, but also harmful. At this point, it is not as good as a book without a book, as Mencius called it (“Mencius”)
