Total saponins extracted from Gynostemma Pentaphyllum [Jhumb] Mak have various pharmacological effects. This experiment explored the hepatoprotective effects of Gynostemma saponins and oleanolic acid from the perspective of biochemistry and pathology. The experimental material rat was purchased from Shanghai Experimental Animal Center. The total saponin of Gynostemma pentaphylla was provided by the Institute and the sample of oleanolic acid was provided by Changsha No.1 Traditional Chinese Medicine Factory with a content of 98%.
