The EphA1 gene is the first member of the Eph family of receptor tyrosine kinases that is not only involved in embryonic development and angiogenesis but also widely expressed in normal adult tissues. Its unique receptor and ligand complex structure and signal transduction patterns, so that its role in tumorigenesis, development and metastasis are increasingly valued. In different organs, different types of tissue tumors, even in the same stage of tumor development, EphA1 gene expression status is also very different, suggesting that the function of the gene diversity. In-depth study of the role of EphA1 in angiogenesis and tumorigenesis, development and metastasis may provide new targets for the early diagnosis and treatment of tumors.
