Only by deepening the system reform can we improve the political ecology. China’s democratic politics should proceed steadily along the following three paths: promoting democracy within the party through democracy; from grassroots democracy toward higher democracy; and from less competition to more competition. Institutional reform must take into account the balance of the political ecosystem. From the intra-party democracy to social democracy, it mainly balances the relations between the state and the society; from grassroots democracy to high-level democracy, it mainly balances the relations between the central and local governments. To promote the national governance system and the modernization of governance capacity, the core objectives are to enhance the party’s governance level, consolidate the party’s ruling position and eventually realize the Chinese nation
