高适、岑参是唐代边塞诗派的两位卓越代表者。均以豪迈雄壮的风格著称。宋严羽说:“高岑之诗悲壮”(《沧浪诗话》)。然而由于二人早年的生活经历,艺术气质,审美情绪各异,高岑在共同的风格之下,又表现出各自的特点。一《燕歌行》此诗原为高适有感于张守珪军中之事而作。但他融会了早先北上蓟门的经历和体验,在更为广阔的现实背景上,对边塞之事进行了提炼和概括。因而更具有普遍性和典型性。诗中描写了敌人的凶横进犯,士 Gao Shi and Cen Sen are two outstanding representatives of the Frontier Poetry School in the Tang Dynasty.
