我国栽培山楂历史悠久,野生资源丰富。山楂果实风味酸甜,富含维生素C、果胶和多种有机酸,可生食,又可制多种食品和清凉饮料,营养价值较高。山楂果入药,有消积、化滞、行瘀等作用,可医治多种疾病。随着科学技术的发展和人民生活水平的提高,山楂商品性生产正在迅速发展。辽宁省东部山区岫岩县是山楂生产的商品基地之一,现在全县有山楂树340万株,收购量高达271万斤。1979年以来,先后供应外地苗木达9万株。岫岩县过去发展山楂生产所需苗木,主要是利用野生山里红根蘖苗做砧木,就地嫁接或移栽嫁接成园。但这种方法成苗率低,而且有破坏自然资源和水土流失的严重后
