1919年春,屡遭新文学家谩骂的林纾作出了反击,却为此付出了惨重的代价:文学史形象被污名化。其实,在新旧双方口诛笔伐的背后,隐藏的是一个始终困扰中国知识分子的议题:在文化亟须求借新质以完成转型的转捩点,如何调适“自我”与“他者”之间的关系,如何解决传统与现代之间的矛盾。对此,林纾竭力思考,并给出了合乎时代特征的答案,这也正好为未来文化的前行提供了可供借镜的资源。
In the spring of 1919, Lin Shu, who was repeatedly criticized by new writers, fought back and paid a heavy price for it: the image of the history of literature was stigmatized. In fact, behind both the old and the old vocal opposition, what is hidden is a topic that has always plagued Chinese intellectuals: how to adjust “self” and “the other” in the urgent need of borrowing new material in order to complete the transition of culture How to solve the contradiction between tradition and modern times. In this regard, Lin Shu tried hard to think and gave an answer that was in keeping with the characteristics of the times. It also provided resources that could be borrowed for the future culture.
