Recalling the history of the development of rail transit electric drive system. The application of power electronics technology to the development of electric traction drive system is illustrated from the application of traction drive system, auxiliary system and locomotive power supply. From the aspects of system performance, simple device, test system, multi-device and power quality improvement, the paper expounds the development of power electronic devices to promote the modern rail transit converter technology.
