In many international metropolises, people often go by car only because they are far apart from homes, work units, business centers, and schools. Recently, Roslin, Va., and Piesetta, Maryland, have adopted new solutions: work on urban planning, establish “bus villages”, and encourage people to take steps. The so-called public transportation villages are established in convenient residential areas (such as subway stations) with well-developed residential areas.
