据日刊《通商弘报》2001年6月报道,东盟自由贸易区(AFTA)2002年起将逐步推动贸易自由化。AFTA实施后,境内主要国家之间的关税在2002年要降到5％以下,2010年降为零(原始成员国先行实施),总人口超过5亿的东南亚可视为单一市场,是继中国之后引人注意的又一个广大市场。为此发达国家的跨国公司正在加紧调整在东盟的生产布局。
According to a daily newspaper Hong Kong Commercial Daily reported in June 2001, the ASEAN Free Trade Area (AFTA) will gradually promote trade liberalization in 2002.
