地震不如洪水或旱灾等其它自然灾害那样频发,但它的直接杀伤力却强得多,这就让房子的设计建筑颇具矛盾性。中科院院士陈顒先生在《自然灾害》中说:“在一个地震很少发生的地方,盖非常抗震的建筑物,势必浪费大量的财力物力,是不必要的;反之,在一个地震经常发生的地方,盖一个不抗震的建筑,一旦地震来了,势必有大量的人员伤亡,这种做法是极其不负责任的。”
The earthquake is not as frequent as other natural disasters such as floods or droughts, but its direct destructive power is much stronger, which makes the design of the house more contradictory. Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Mr. Chen Jun, said in the “Natural Disasters”: “In a place where earthquakes rarely occur, building very earthquake-resistant buildings will inevitably waste a lot of financial and material resources. It is unnecessary; on the contrary, it often occurs in an earthquake. A place that does not resist earthquakes will be built. Once the earthquake comes, there will be a lot of casualties. This is extremely irresponsible.”
