春秋时期是中国社会处于新旧交替的大动荡大变革时期。孔子正处于春秋晚期,是社会秩序和价值观念大裂变大冲突大组合的时期。而此时孔子对天命的理解,是在对周朝对天的基本价值观批判继承与创造发展的基础上完成的。可以说孔子对天命的理解并不是完全相同的,当我们把孔子的天命观放在一个特定的背景下,用历史的发展的眼光而不是静止的固态的眼光来看待这种矛盾时,就会对孔子的天命思想有一个更好的把握和理解。

At this time, Confucius’ comprehension of destiny was accomplished on the basis of the critical inheritance and creation and development of the basic values of heaven in the Zhou dynasty. It can be said that Confucius’s understanding of Heavenly Destiny is not exactly the same. When we treat Confucius’s outlook on heaven and destiny in a specific context and look at this contradiction in a historical development rather than a static solid state, There is a better grasp and understanding of the Confucian idea of heavenly service.
