2001年是太平天国农民起义150周年,5月28日至30日在江苏南京太平天国历史博物馆召开了由中国太平天国史研究会、南京大学、扬州大学等多家单位联合举办的纪念太平天国起义150周年暨罗尔纲先生诞辰100周年学术研讨会。与会专家和代表一致认为,对于太平天国史,仍然有必要在马克思主义的指导下本着客观、求真的态度继续进行深入研究,进一步提高研究水平。广西是太平天国的首义之地,推进太平天国史的深入研究,是广西社科界、史学界义不容辞的学术责任。在钟文典教授的倡议下,本刊从2001年第4期起特开设《太平天国史研究》专栏,迄今已有3期,现仍欢迎广大从事太平天国史研究的专家、学者就以下选题惠赐大作:（1）太平天国史事考辨;（2）太平天国学术史研究;（3）新发现的太平天国史史料与评介;（4）太平天国区域社会史研究;（5）太平天国在中国近代史上的历史作用。
2001 is the 150th anniversary of the peasant uprising in the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom. From May 28 to 30, the 150th anniversary of the Taiping Heavenly King uprising and the 150th anniversary of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom uprising by the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom History Research Society, Nanjing University and Yangzhou University were held in the Taiping Heavenly History Museum in Nanjing, Mr. 100th anniversary of the academic seminar. Experts and representatives attending the meeting unanimously held that it is still necessary for the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom History to continue conducting in-depth studies in the objective and truth-seeking manner under the guidance of Marxism and further improve the research level. Guangxi is the place of origin of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom. To promote the in-depth study of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom history is an unshirkable academic responsibility of Guangxi’s social sciences and historians. At the initiative of Professor Zhong Wendian, we published a special column titled “History of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom” since the fourth issue of 2001, and we now have three articles. We welcome the broad masses of experts and scholars engaged in the study of the history of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom in the following topics Masterpiece: (1) the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom history investigation; (2) Taiping Heavenly Kingdom academic history research; (3) the newly discovered Taiping Heavenly Kingdom historical data and review; (4) Taiping Heavenly Kingdom regional social history research; (5) Taiping Heavenly Kingdom in the history of modern China effect.
