传统戏曲中书生状元及第的模式在明末清初的才子佳人传奇中发生了变化,出现了许多非状元及第的现象。但此变化具有共性,即无论是否状元及第,书生在科举后都入翰林院中为官。此现象也存在于同时期的才子佳人小说中。究其原因,则在于明清两代内阁必出自翰林、翰林必出自进士的现实。所以分析翰林与明末清初才子佳人传奇的关系可以合理解释戏曲作品中的相关问题,也可以探寻当时文人在追求政治理想与功名富贵上的真实愿望,对研究明末清初士人心态具有参考价值。
