Recently, the Swiss “Sybil” company has developed a system for large refrigerators with neither an engine nor a compressor. The role of this system is based on the following properties of ammonia. Under a little pressure, gaseous ammonia is largely absorbed by the cold water and, at elevated temperatures, is precipitated from the cold water.
