Objective: To investigate the influence of the past medical history on the survival of emergency patients after cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Methods: The clinical data of 92 patients who underwent cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in our hospital from September 2010 to September 2013 were retrospectively analyzed. The impact of the past medical history on the success rate of first aid was analyzed. Results: In 92 patients, cardiopulmonary resuscitation was performed. In 21 patients, resuscitation was successful and the success rate of resuscitation was 22.8%. Among them, 73 patients had a history of previous illness, 16 patients recovered successfully, 6 patients failed to provide medical history, 1 patient successfully recovered, 13 patients did not have any medical history and 4 patients successfully recovered. The success rate of recovery of healthy patients was significantly higher than that of patients with disease, the difference was statistically significant. Conclusion: The patient’s past history of illness led to a reduced success rate of CPR.
