INTRODUCTION A number of interesting papers on antenna technology for radar applications are presented in Microwaves, Issue 1, 1987, Special Issue on Antennas and Radars, including Howell, Field Radar Antennas, “” The New Antenna Technologies, “co-authored by Tangue and Brown and Kendall et al., And” Digital Beamforming Techniques, "by Stetska. Obviously, these excellent papers collected above simply outline some of the new technologies in existing antennas and the current status and trends of array antennas. This reflects the large demand for systems in terms of low side lobe, adaptive interference cancellation and, most importantly, cost reduction. It also covers printed circuit array technology, an important aspect of developing a new generation of radar antenna technology.
