美国煤矿安全生产处于世界领先水平,近年来每百万吨煤死亡率一直在0.03%以下。目前,美国约有2100个煤矿,煤矿从业人员10.87万人,其中矿工8.8万人。作为仅次于中国的世界第二采煤大国,2002~2004年美国产煤分别为9.94亿吨、9.73亿吨、10.1亿吨,煤矿生产安全事故死亡人数分别为27人、30人、28人。2005年创下新低,仅22人。
In the United States, coal mine safety production is at the leading level in the world. The death rate per million tons of coal has been below 0.03% in recent years. At present, the United States has about 2,100 coal mines and employs 108,700 coal mines, of whom 88,000 are miners. As the second largest coal mining country in the world after China, the number of coal produced in the United States from 2002 to 2004 was 994 million tons, 973 million tons and 1.01 billion tons respectively. The death toll from coal mine safety accidents was 27, 30 and 28 respectively . The lowest level in 2005, only 22 people.
