Summarize the key problems in the development of epithelial tumor, invasion and metastasis, as well as the expression and control of cyclooxygenase 2 (COX-2) and zinc finger transcription factor Snail protein in epithelial tumors. To explore the significance of COX signaling pathway [COX-PGEs-dependent pathway] in invasion and metastasis of epithelial ovarian cancer. The overexpression of COX-2 in the development and progression of ovarian cancer results in the increase of prostaglandin E level and the up-regulation of the Snail protein, a zinc finger transcription factor, which interacts with the E-box on the E-cadherin promoter Element to inhibit the transcription of E-cadherin. E-cadherin expression as a cell adhesion molecule is downregulated, promoting the invasion and metastasis potential of tumor cells.
