Buddhism was introduced into China during the Han Dynasty and took root in the soil of Han culture and merged well with the Han culture. This fusion was most prominently expressed in terms of language. The idioms of Buddhism gradually merge into Chinese, and are restrained and influenced by the Chinese system. They settle down in Chinese and produce many new words, including the four-character idioms of transliteration, free translation and no Sanskrit. In the process of spread, these idioms Has more or less changed its meanings. Some phenomena such as the retention of meaning, the expansion of meaning, the reduction of meaning and the secularization of meaning transfer have a profound influence on the development of Chinese vocabulary.
