As for the fact that Tang King-song promised to stay in Taiwan as the “Taiwan democracies”, historians generally consider the move as a “stopgap measure” that is totally beyond one’s control. The objective is to wait for the opportunity to flee. In fact, this is not the case. Since Tang Jingsong insisted not only on his anti-Taiwan independence stance, he was quite confident in striving for the powers to intervene in defending Taiwan and especially in striving for the powers to intervene in defending Taiwan after Taiwan announced its “independence.” There is still a considerable degree of protection for Taiwan’s land and people And therefore decided that he could not completely consider his own advance or retreat on the issue of whether or not to leave Taiwan, and thus decided that he could not completely disregard whether or not he was allowed to leave Taiwan as the only criterion for his behavior. To be sure, the reason why Down agreed to stay in Taiwan to a considerable extent out of voluntariness.
