中国园林艺术,以其历史悠久、师法自然、风致韵绝享誉全世界,并有“世界园林之母”之美誉。我国造园历史,起源于殷周时期,自殷周至明、清,凡三千余年,中国园林艺术空间造型,由以猎苑、台观为主的苑囿,发展到由建筑、植物、山、石、水体以至园林雕塑等共同组合而成的文人写意派式的高等园林建设精品,并能在全世界造园史上独领风骚,这不能不归功于历代造园艺术家对我国传统造园艺术的继承——发展——创新。特别是南宋时期的俞微,明代的计成,清代的张涟、张然、李渔、张南垣、戈裕良、仇好石等造园大师。他们创造的如诗似画的江南园林及浓重妍丽、风姿逸秀的北京清代皇家苑囿,宛如一朵朵光彩夺目,绰约多姿的奇葩。它们是中华民族特有的园林艺术瑰宝,将与日月同辉,永放光彩。
