Genistein是一种异黄酮类的植物雌激素,在体内可能通过抑制PTK活性而产生抗肿瘤作用。可与ATP竞争酪氨酸蛋白激酶上的结合位点,其特异性较强,对丝氨酸6和苏氨酸蛋白激酶无抑制作用,它在肿瘤的发生、发展阶段存在着多重抑制效应,其主要防癌机制为调节雌激素受体、增加抗氧化酶的活性、抑制热休克蛋白、诱导细胞分化、促进细胞凋亡、抑制细胞代谢关键酶活性、阻止某些因子的作用而抑制肿瘤细胞生长及抑制血管生成作用,与多种肿瘤发生的低风险有关。由于异黄酮是天然植物雌激素,并非真正意义上的雌激素,易于分解,不会在体内堆积。因此没有外源性雌激素的毒副作用是安全的。
