Sulfonylureas are poorly water-soluble oral hypoglycemic agents. Their release varies, curative effects vary. It has been reported that two different commercial products of the same metribuzin differ in their degree of release and their bioavailability and efficacy. The effects of polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) and polyethylene glycol (PEG) 6000 on the release of D_ (860) have been studied and found that both increase the drug release and that PVP can form a complex with D_ (860) , PEG can not.
