Yang Key is a poet who opens up new possibilities for Chinese poetry. The most important reason for the poetic excitement does not seem to lie in whether or not it represents the “native land”, “natural”, “people” or “soul” of its own country. What is important is that what he describes can arouse the readers’ profound feeling of being transnational, cross-social, cross-cultural and inter-generational. In short, what he describes is universal. In my opinion Yang key’s view is not wide, but can be said that some narrow and extreme. Not afraid of being misunderstood, I think this view is a bit unilateral and creates the limitations of his writing. In fact, on the contrary, this limitation is the key to universality.
