款冬款冬(寡妇花)为多年生草本植物,高不过10～20厘米,呈肾状心形的叶子比较大,有掌状网脉,长可达10厘米,宽可达15厘米,叶下面密生白色的茸毛。款冬在冬季于出叶前开花。它的若干个花葶高约10厘米,外表看去似为一朵黄色的花,其实是一个头状花序,因为款冬属于菊科。花序周边为舌状花,果实有冠毛。款冬分布极广,芬兰、西欧、非洲北部、前苏联、伊朗、印度及我国华北、西北至华中地区均有生长。
