北京市第一七九中学(原崇文区电子技术职业教育中心)建于1974年,1980年开办职业高中,1995年被批准为省(市)级重点职业高级中学,同年被国家劳动部认定为全市职业高中唯一的市级职业技能鉴定所,先后两次被评为北京市职业教育先进单位。几年来,市区政府、教委投资3000多万元建成了苹果机房、计算机网络、视频、灯光音响、电子排版和计算机组装与维修等实训室及 Beijing No. 179 Middle School (formerly Chongwen District Electronic Technology Vocational Education Center) was established in 1974 and vocational high school was established in 1980.
