纽曼教授是美国知名的饮食文化学者,几十年来一直致力在美国推广中餐文化,其创办的《美味与财富》杂志是美国唯一一本关于中国烹饪与艺术的杂志(1994年至今)。她也是亚洲食学论坛的老朋友,每一届亚洲食学论坛都受组委会的邀请并作主题发言。2015年10月17~19日,第五届亚洲食学论坛在圣城曲阜召开,来自世界10余个国家的300多名学者和餐饮企业代表围绕“夫礼之初始诸饮食”的主题,对儒家饮食思想、中华传统食礼、世界各国食文化、食礼制度和食行为等议题展开了深人广泛的研讨。纽曼教授作为特邀嘉宾发表主题演讲。会议期间,她抽空专门接受了我刊编辑蓝洁的专访。
Professor Newman is a well-known food culture scholar in the United States. He has devoted himself to promoting Chinese food culture in the United States for decades. The magazine “Wealth and Fortune” founded in the United States is the only magazine on Chinese cooking and art in the United States (since 1994).
