“The End of the Story” is one of the most important works of American postmodern novelist Lydia Davis, winner of the 2013 Boke Award. This novel focuses on the love story of a professor at a female university and a young student. But unlike traditional fiction, which describes the plot, “the last of the story” is not tangled in the minutiae of the narrative. The research of Davis’s work by foreign academics highlights the theme and anti-traditional style which emphasizes “self ” consciousness. The interpretation of “the last of the story” from the skepticism and prose style has increased the dimension of philosophical thinking and enabled us to better understand the subversion of the traditional novels by the style of prose.
