上海中学创建于1865年(清同治四年),始名龙门书院,历经更名,新中国成立后定名为上海市上海中学。上海中学是上海市教委直属的大型寄宿制高中,以教育高质量饮誉海内外。据不完全统计,历届校友中有曾庆红等现任和曾任的党和国家省部级以上领导80多人,人民解放军将军21人,两院院士51人(含海外院士6人)。
Shanghai Middle School was founded in 1865 (the 4th year of the Tongzhi Period of the Qing Dynasty) and was first known as Longmen College. After its establishment, it was renamed Shanghai Shanghai Middle School. Shanghai Middle School is a large boarding high school directly subordinated to the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission. It enjoys high reputation for education at home and abroad. According to incomplete statistics, successive alumni include Zeng Qinghong and other current and former party leaders, more than 80 leaders at or above provincial and ministerial level, 21 generals of the People’s Liberation Army, and 51 academicians of both institutions (including 6 overseas academicians).
