Based on the analysis of 166 cases of early breastfeeding, we found that 26.5% of the mothers had adequate milk production within 48 hours after giving birth, 51.8% of the mothers had adequate milk production 48-72 hours after delivery and 21.7% of the mothers It takes 3 days for milk to meet the baby’s needs. The results showed that the first effective sucking time and the number of the first 48h of feeding were related to the secretion of colostrum. The main factors influencing the first effective sucking and feeding were the development of the nipples, gestational age and abnormalities at birth, that is, the nipples were flat or concave, Premature delivery, neonatal asphyxia, etc. can significantly delay the first effective sucking time. At the same time, the first effective sucking time was highly correlated with the number of feeds at the first 48 h (P <0.0001). Therefore, the nipple flat or depression in a timely manner to give correct and promote effective early sucking success; for premature birth, asphyxia, birth trauma and other babies to give more guidance and attention will help promote the early secretion of breast milk
