In order to popularize the saturation diving technology and meet the development needs of the army and the four modernizations, the Navy held the first saturation diving technical training class at the Shanghai Naval Medical Research Institute from August 16 to October 23, 1984, and achieved success. This is the first large-scale saturation diving technical training course held in China. During the training, commanders of the Navy, Liu Huaqing, Commander Yang Guoyu and Minister Wang Jianying paid a visit to the diver and staff in the saturated tank during their inspection.
