After the Second World War, the United States, as a superpower, has enjoyed unprecedented economic strength and gold reserves ranking first in the world. Together with Britain and France, the United States has established the first international achievement in international monetary cooperation initiated by formal legal documents, namely Bretton Woods system. Its establishment is essentially for the United States to seek world hegemony, is conducive to the economic recovery of western countries after the war, to a certain extent, also improved the legal system of international finance. However, there are many unfairness in itself, which is incompatible with the world economic development. Therefore, exploring the impact of the Bretton Woods institutions on the world economy can help people to better understand the global financial crisis triggered by the U.S. dollar and jointly seek coping strategies.
