作为众多英语变体中的一种,新加坡英语与英、美、加、澳、新等所谓标准英语明显不同,主要原因在于受中国普通话、广东话、闽南话、海南话、客家话的影响。新加坡英语已因其鲜明的语言特色被认同为“新式英语”。新式英语中很多表达习惯与我国南部沿海各省方言相似,因为大多数新加坡人来自我国南方。在此旨在解读具有华文和中华文化元素的新加坡英语中的中式词汇的成因。
As one of many English variants, Singapore English is obviously different from the so-called standard English of Britain, the United States, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand mainly due to the influence of Mandarin Chinese, Cantonese, Hokkien, Hakka and Hakka. Singapore English has been recognized as “New English” for its distinctive linguistic features. Many expressions of new English are similar to the dialects of the southern coastal provinces of our country, as most Singaporeans come from the south of our country. This is aiming to explain the causes of Chinese vocabulary in Singaporean English with Chinese and Chinese elements.
