(1949年4月1日～5月27日)三十八年(1949年)四月一日由信阳撤退。余前二日在信阳得撤退计划后,即交朱其平、龚梦涛率领后方部队南来,朱其平以思想反动硬将长台关狮河铁桥破坏,殊为痛心。但国防部及白总司令尚嫌不彻底并指责甚多,所以即时将第五绥区撤销,所部四万余人只编一127A,令余兼军长。不得已,将部队开至贺胜桥一带整训。
(April 1, 1949 ~ May 27, 1949) Thirty-eight years (1949) retreat from Xinyang on April 1. After I had planned to withdraw from Xinyang on the second day ago, Zhu Qiping and Gong Mengtao led the rear troops to the south and Zhu Qiping was desperate for his ideological and reactionary hard-handed destruction of the Shigutong Shishui Bridge.
