The lyric poet in the drama stage Williams’ Glass Zoo is a sad poem about desire. One of its metaphorical themes is the struggle of the poem of desire in the Puritanism American environment, expressing the determination of the playwright to uphold his desire. However, the success of the play has led to the transformation of the playwright. In “A Streetcar Named Desire,” he retreated backward from the standpoint of a desireless poet, complacent to the Puritan United States. Although this was a very successful cultural seduction, the playwright’s abandonment of the poem of desire meant his betrayal of self, which led to his defeat in his subsequent writing.
