The p H value and total arsenic, total cadmium, total lead and total chromium in four soils of vegetable producing areas in Urumqi were determined by using a combination of single pollution index and comprehensive pollution index. Heavy metal pollutants were sampled for analysis and evaluation [1] [2]. The results showed that the average content of heavy metal pollutants in soil of vegetable producing areas in Urumqi was lower than the limit of HJ 332-2006 (the evaluation standard of environmental quality of edible agricultural products origin). The average single pollution index and integrated pollution index of soil heavy metal pollutants were both ≤ 0.7, soil environmental quality are grade 1, are clean level, suitable as a planting base of pollution-free agricultural products. At the same time, it was found that the contents of heavy metals in some vegetable-producing soils were close to the limit values stipulated by the state, indicating that the soils in the producing areas were affected to some extent by heavy metal pollutants and that there was a risk of heavy metal pollution.
