一般的直流等离子显示器的结构相当复杂。现已成功地研制出一种独特的等离子显示板。尽管其结构简单,却具有很高的工作可靠性。在两块玻璃板之间仅有阳极-阴极阵列式电极条和沿每个阳极条布设的隔离条。除这样一种简单的设计外,为制造这种板,还引用丝网印制技术。电极条和隔离条用印制技术在玻璃板上制成。于是,这种新板为更大屏幕显示器的研制铺平了道路。尽管结构简单,但新板显示稳定可靠,原因是采用了独特的扫描方法。放电单元空间被分成辅助放电区和显示放电区。辅助放电区总是由一个微弱的辅助放电、电流扫描,即使在显示放电断开时也不间断。这种方案能确保显示器可靠地工作。这种等离子显示板在信息处理中可望得到新的应用领域。

Such plasma display panels are expected to find new applications in information processing.
