As an expert on the Far East, his concept of China is greatly influenced by the experiences of youth in China. In the past five years of work and life in Hangzhou opened his career in the direction of the event and eventually cast its brilliant diplomatic career. While living in Hangzhou, he witnessed the awakening and revolution of the Chinese people as well as the political turmoil and economic backwardness in China.
