According to Dr. Peter Robinson, president of technology at Metal Manufactures, the group predicts that the domestic sales of the CMA Firestop flame retardant cable in 1987 will be approximately US$12 million. The CMA Firestop flame-retardant cable can perform tasks in an emergency, maintaining lighting and other related electrical equipment for up to 3 hours at a temperature of 100°C, enabling emergency evacuation in buildings. Dr. Robinsen pointed out that the products developed by Australia account for about 60% of the domestic market to combat European product competition. He said: “We believe that our products have excellent mechanical and electrical properties, and we also have the advantage of making products more closely meet user requirements.”
