α-Glucosidase inhibitors are used therapeutically to treat type-2 diabetes mellitus. Through a bioassay-guided fractionation technique, three carotenoids,（all-E）-lutein,（all-E）-zeaxanthin and（9-Z）-zeaxanthin, were purified from the green alga Chlorella el
