克孜尔石窟位于新疆拜城县境内,在县城的东北方向。石窟位于克孜尔镇以南约9公里处,在该镇的辖区内。石窟区的主要洞窟,开凿在木扎提河旁的崖壁上。崖壁是由河沙沉积而成的。它的结构松散,在风雨侵蚀下易于崩塌。洞窟就开凿在这些崖壁上。洞窟开凿以来,已有1000多年历史,崖壁不断崩塌,逐步向后退缩。当初开凿的洞窟设施和洞窟前壁,也随之一次塌毁,有的洞窟估计已经完全塌毁。 Kizil Grottoes in the city of Baicheng in Xinjiang, in the northeast of the county. The grotto is located about 9 km south of Kizil, within the town’s jurisdiction. The main caves in the grotto area are excavated on the cliffs next to the Muzati River. The cliff is deposited from sand. Its structure is loose and prone to collapse under wind and rain. Caves were cut on these cliffs. Since the excavation of the cave, more than 1,000 years of history, the cliffs continue to collapse, and gradually retreat backwards. Originally dug cave facilities and cave walls, also followed by a collapse, and some estimated that the cave has been completely destroyed.
