Before the 1980s, the organizers of the Olympic Games and people who care about the Olympic Movement paid the most attention to the issue of profit and loss of the Olympic Games. However, since the 1984 Los Angeles Olympic Games, although all the Olympic Games have succeeded in profits, the relevant research on the economic impact of holding the cities after hosting the Olympic Games has become the focus of attention. With the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games approaching, how to make use of the Olympic Games to expand economic benefits and how to deal with possible post-Olympic “trough effects” has become the focus of economic and sports research.
